The Weight of Letting Go

What a week. I finished cleaning out my old apartment—mostly, at least. It was tough. So many memories, good and bad, surfaced as I packed up that chapter of my life. But it was time to say goodbye.
Life’s been a whirlwind. A relationship is in turmoil, and while it’s painful, it’s also a reminder of all the good times and memories we shared. The future is unwritten, and only time will tell what’s next.
Today, I woke up ready to move forward. Ready to keep working toward my goals.
I started counting calories again, and as always, the first few days bring a shift. This morning, the scale read 193.8 lbs—down from 198 yesterday.
Now, I didn’t lose 4 lbs in a day. Weight fluctuates—hydration, digestion, and a dozen other factors play into those numbers. The key is the trend: it’s moving down. That’s why, if you’re tracking weight, it’s important to check in a few times a week to see the real picture.
Yesterday was an active day. I taught an hour of Hatha yoga, worked out for 75–90 minutes, and walked nearly 14,000 steps.
My macro goals are still a work in progress. It usually takes a few days to dial in that sweet spot. Right now, I’m eating around 2,500 calories, with:
Protein: 180–190g
Carbs: 275–300g
Fats: 70–80g
Once my weight stabilizes over the next week, I’ll adjust as needed.

Ahead of me today: a busy day of movement. I’m working as a stagehand for a death metal concert with Inertia Entertainment—my other job. I’ve known Noel for more than half my life and worked for him for five years in the 2000s. It’s been awesome to get back into it, and it fits perfectly with my training schedule.
